Mar. 1st, 2004 10:02 amSeem to be developing quite the skill in the "mascot design" department. Following my realisation of the Firestorm imp, I spent much of this weekend designing a character for somebody's biochemistry presentation. It seems to have come out quite well. Seriously, I went back to look at them again an hour later and was thoroughly stunned by the quality. I had no idea they looked so good.
Of them all, Apoptosis was probably the hardest - we had to express how this wonder drug stops Neutrophil cells from dying. I chose to illustrate this through the medium of a giant floating energy screen. He so crazy, man.
Enjoy. I'll probably put these up on my website in the folio at some point, since they're that good.
NeutroPhil | Migration | Phagocytosis | Superoxide Killing | Apoptosis

Date: 2004-03-15 06:47 am (UTC)I hear that advertising pays well, and magazine work can be lucrative and regular. Best get a portfolio together and send to every magazine giant you know. You could get regular commissions from mags too, which would enable you to make it your full-time job if you desired.
Sorry to not be more helpful. I work in editorial, and am not that close to the commissioning/design side of things. Your type of illustration could probably be used in any number of ways, so I wish you luck!
