Still coming
Jul. 28th, 2006 09:42 pmI am still in Newark!
Apparently in the United States they have not heard of this thing called "rain" so when it comes they start cancelling their airplanes on account of slippery runways or something. My plane to Nawlins was the last one of the evening, so my 6 hour stopover has turned into something like 18. Possibly more.
The actual best case scenario at this point is that I get into Nawlins at 2pm, 23 hours before I have to be back at the airport to go home.
I AM REALLY HAPPY!

Date: 2006-07-29 05:39 am (UTC)I don't know what your options are but it might be possible to fly from Newark to another major city to catch a connecting flight to New Orleans earlier than that time. The airlines are supposed to be accomodating especially to hawt British travellers like yourself, so perhaps that is something that might work?

Date: 2006-07-29 09:29 am (UTC)The guy at the airline did check all possible connecting flights but they were all booked up - I'm currently booked on a flight direct to Nawlins at 11:00 or so, getting in around 2PM. I'm going to try to squeeze onto the 7:05 one though. Fingers crossed.
If you have contact details for them, this would be the place to post them .

Date: 2006-07-29 02:50 pm (UTC)We've been working at completely opposite angles, unfortunately. I had been posting on the MoM and was unable to get through to Newark's overhead announcement service last night. Somehow it never occurred to me to check your livejournal.
Anyways, I'm current working under the assumption that you're on the afternoon flight and are keeping tabs on Continental's website.
