Actual journal-type entry shock

Fun but reasonably quiet weekend. Friday was
stsquad's birthday party, at which I did get reasonably sloshed but managed to behave myself. The evening was, for me, muted slightly by the occasional moment of uncharacteristic despondency; thanks go out to
maddam for impromptu counselling. He is great.
Saturday was more sedate; moseyed on over to
bacony's house some time after noon for movies and further alcohol (electing to not only travel by public transport but also sleep over). Highlight for me was the Batman/Superman cartoon movie, which reminded me how much I enjoy the Justice league cartoon. I haven't managed to see that show for so long now. Slightly less well-behaved but nothing to be ashamed of, I think. (Given how unashamed I am of certain previous incidents this may not be much of a yardstick, as it were, but the phrase is used here in its more generic sense.)
Sunday opened with a small amount more DVDage, before proceeding home to Stretford. Thence to finish off this week's Special School and enjoy the remainder of Friday's barbecue food. Sad to say I was quite unsociable and accidentally played several hours of Dungeon Siege when I went indoors to do the computer-processing part of the strip creation. Whoops! Also watched The Magic Roundabout movie with
stsquad and
icklejo, which was about as good as I remembered (ie: solidly-written family fun, done with both conviction and affection).
wibblefish mentioned he did not know the current Special School address. It is http://specialschool.spiderforest.com - I should put a note to that effect on the Keenspace site, really. And update the links on my homepage. And maybe do something about that comic dropdown I was part of... anyway, anyone who wants to keep up-to-date with my monstrous creation can subscribe to
specialschool. (Oh, for reference, here's a link to the most recent strip on the Keenspace site. You can read forward from there if you've not been keeping up.)
That is all.
ETA: Just had my three-month review; mixed feedback. Apparently everybody thinks I'm enormously talented, if only I would apply myself more. This is something I heard right through school. I am simply not motivated. Which is surprising, because I really do enjoy working here and am keen to do right by them. I'm just far too easily distracted...
Net result: Probation extended by three months - they really want to keep me on but aren't yet confident that I will put the work in. On the plus side, boss was making laptop noises this morning.
