I just found the fact that Britney Spears was the best music they could come up with as a soundtrack to the end of the world very amusing...

I caught the last third or so. Housemate and b/f were watching it and I was feeling mopey and in need of company. It's certainly not something I'll be going out of my way to watch. Although with CE leaving at the end of the series, I'm all for seeing what a new Doctor can do. My vote goes for Alan Davies or Richard E Grant. I think both have the charisma to pull off a character like the Doctor. CE always strikes me as a bit too nervous and intimidated by the role. What amuses me most is that he's leaving because he "doesn't want to become typecast", only he's just going to be known as "that actor who quite Dr Who"...

I'm not sure. I mean leaving who after only one season was always going to be a bad move, though there always was a fear it wasn't going to last...

In an early Red Dwarf episode, Rimmer tells Lister that he should listed to some classical music, like Mozart, Mendelson , or Motorhead.

It's a joke as old as the music, hur hur hur.

I'm even more curious about the war the Doctor mentions. He hasn't yet named the victor.
