Raj returns!

Just got a call from the garage to say that Raj survived the operation. There was a minor complication with the radiator; he's been given a plastic weld, or something, which apparently "should hold." The mechanic is charging me a hundred pounds less than the estimate because he's not doing any work on the bonnet (which apparently is slightly dented but is not worth respraying).

I'm heading to Manchester tonight to pick the car up tomorrow, from where I will take it to a tyres place and (fix the|purchase a new) tyre. Friday is on.

Shit, my faith in the world has been restored. Trust to serendipity and love. Rose-tinted goggles: Check. Altogether now: If we take our time, and we stick together, everything we do will go our way...

That does sound fun, though bear in mind I won't have a car until tomorrow ... and I'm not sure what time I'll get to Manchester. Could be late, I'm planning to have dinner in Ilkley (7-7.30-ish) and then set off (mm, 2 hours maybe) so it could be as late as 9.30/10.

I'll give you a ring when I'm approaching Picadilly.

I don't mind driving if we need a driver - on antibiotics, so can't drink or anything anyway. I won't collect people from Piccadilly coz I haven't got a clue where to go since they closed Piccadilly approach, but can pick you up from Oxford Rd or somewhere if you want.

Oh - sorry, didn't mean I wanted picking up! Just thought it would be a suitable point to chat about what to do, since by that time I would know what time I'd be getting in.

You know, Oxford Road sounds like a fantastic idea. We can pop into the Salisbury. Then you can drive me home! ;)

Didn't think you were hinting for a lift - thought you just meant you wouldn't be able to get to Didsbury. But, honestly don't mind picking you up. After 3 days of icky plague illness, I am anxious to do almost anything that avoids me hanging around the house. Otherwise I might get cabin fever and end up murdering people.

Three days in teh house before developing cabin fever? I usually manage about 12 hours, that said I did a four day stint will I was unemployed and my house mates were out of the country by the end I was started to become a little strange.
