New World Ordo was excellent fun. I spent a great deal of time pretending to know more than other people, and I think I largely pulled it off. Spent a lot of time talking to Flavia; initially sparring but later (following certain events that changed her outlook somewhat) in a more conspiratorial sense. ( Plots )
Think my costume more or less worked, despite the almost total lack of impact from the black hair dye (most of it fell off when I rinsed it as per instructions; I suspect I may have towel-dried it far too well as there was no lather to speak of). Was certainly much less hot in my single layer arabic nightshirt gown thing than everybody else in their heavy velvet robes and fur. Naturally I will require pictures of myself to fret over, and convert into LJ icons, before I can be sure.
Among the high points of the weekend was Iago's legal defense of somebody he clearly did not wish to defend. Use of the phrases "When he slid the stiletto knife through the victim's ribs..." and "Upon looting the corpse..." is not something one expects from the defense. Highly entertaining. arwel and mrssshhh were lovers for the weekend. Or at least rutting.

I'll be hoping to attend the next event, if and when, but I think I will push for a less knowledgeable and more social character. I wanted to join in the IC drinking and enthusiastic talk of rutting but I really didn't think it was Hammad's scene...

The ride home was somewhat longer than anticipated, taking six hours to get from Derby to Manchester (unusual). This is because I swung by Bradford to dropmrssshhh off, and there was a traffic jam on the M62. Given certain earlier hypotheticals I may or may not have posed I feel it necessary to note that I am not stalking him. Except maybe a little.
I will close (because it is late and I still need a shower) by mentioning that I received a complement on my roleplaying, which always cheers me up. That is all.
