The Color of Magic, Terry PratchettDiscworld - Your universe lies on the far end of the reality continuum, though there are times when it's hard to tell which one. But no matter how you look at it, it's always hilarious.

I'm quite pleased I got that one. I could tell what some of the other answers were leading towards and I'm glad I didn't get His Dark Materia[1]. I would have been happy with LotR, I suppose, though I'm not sure I could take that much trudging.

[1] Not a typo ("-ls"). I made the decision long ago to call it that in perpetuity. I've got it down to the point where I do it reflexively now.

Hmm, Prattchett the first time, Potter the second time.

What's wrong with being a spunky young girl with issues. No wait, that's any Pullman story isn't it?

I know what you mean. You find yourself going 'Tehy're a bit young'. Towards the end I think he was palying with themes a bit too heavily and couldn't settle. It's messy, but has some good ideas in it and doesn't really

Thinking about Pullman doesn't do good endings. Neither does Neal Stephenson.

"It" is my only comment on the under-age sex issue. King needs a psychotherapist or possibly locking up.
