Outpost Gallifrey has some much better pictures of the Doctor Who shoot than the BBC site, including some elusive out-of-focus badly-lit shots of yeractual Doctor And TARDIS. The fanboy in me is SQUEE.
Read: Sidney: Yes Sir. I think it's important for the first 18 years we get the costume exactly right. An Edwardian feel - waistcoats, frock coats Mr Borusa: Then after that? Sidney: Brrr anything goes really! Jumpers, cricket whites, clowns costumes Mr Borusa: But won't that spoil the mystery of the character? Sidney: Yes. Mr Borusa: Hmm we could always put questions on the lapels. Sort of 'Dr Who'!
My Mum surprised me not too long ago, she walked in while I was watching an old Tom Baker episode and said, "I never approved of the question marks. It's not very dignified, is it? He's supposed to be a Time Lord..." She was not wrong.
No celery in the lapel does not make the ladies swoon. Black T shirts, leather jackets and Jeans are the clothing a gentleman or Time Lord should wear to guarantee this reaction. *swoon*
I'm sure jellybabies will make an appearance at some point. The writers are all hardcore fans (Paul Cornell actually being the first otherwise unpublished "fan" author to make it into Virgin's New Adventures range), there will be plenty of fanservice sneaking in from the sides.
Excuse me, I've never EVER thought of James Bond as mean, moody, mysterious and sexy. I do have some taste you know.
Anyway what is wrong with the Doctor being this, he's a Time Lord, with a higher form of intelligence, who travels through time and space, with the ability to regenerate each time he dies from an alien planet, why does he have to look, act and dress like a twerp? Surely there can be more to him than this?
*looks up from banging desk* Thank you Andy for pointing that little fact out. This one I think should drive something big and black preferably with a V8 engine to go with his new look of course.
the moral being not to let drag queens design your car. or did I read that wrong.
orange ses: dr who can be sexy as well as all the other things he's supposed to be (quirky, myserious, otherworldy, inventive) dr who can wear socially acceptable trousers/jackets. but not corsets. that's our jobs (and I'm including you in 'our' andy)
