One of the more interesting red herrings in the LJ-Connect equation (prior to the addition of the "ignore" code, anyway) was the frequency of fake celebrity users (like [livejournal.com profile] heman as "friend hubs" with hundreds of people latched onto them.

This whole place is a really odd specimen no matter how you look at it. Everyone has different standards for listing other people, and it's not always consistent with someone else's definition of a friend.
