New computer works with intarwebs. Huzzah! Had to do all manner of rebooting cable box and PC in different orders, then turning on internet explorer and entering magic NTL password into form that appears. (This threw me for a while as the crazy Microsoft page that IE has set as default homepage does not trigger the NTL confirmation page but a 404 Not Found instead, so I didn't realise what was happening until I tried to go to google directly.)

New PC is crazy shiny and plays all the latest games (on loan from [livejournal.com profile] pkgem and Paul). Tomorrow's mission is to not forget to get all my Favourites and email profiles and such over from the old box. I am such a fool, I had the old HD in the new machine today and kept telling myself not to forget but then did so anyway. Oh well, I have tried to remember the ones [livejournal.com profile] bacony requires but I'm sure there are some missing. She will just have to do.

Also I have to buy a new keyboard, as this one is ancient and has a chunky plug that needs an adaptor to fit in a modern machine (that I have stolen from [livejournal.com profile] bacony's machine, hopefully I will have a replacement before she demands it back, which seems likely as she only rarely uses her PC).

Oh, and there doesn't seem to be any way to remove Windows Messenger, not even in "Add/Remove Progams -> Windows Components" where it used to be. Curiouser and curiouser. So I have installed the superior MSN Messenger on top of it.

I leave now to crash the Monday Night Meal. I will leave Windows Update running. Hee hee hee.

X2 is pretty but crap. I imagine it gets much better when you have piles of cash to buy new ships and stuff, but getting anywhere at the start takes far too much time, even when you have a jump drive. Add to this that the copy protection is so good that it fails to recognise my cd, and that their crap customer service department has yet to give me a solution and I'm using a crack to get it working at all, I'd simply avoid it. I knew I should have bought Call of Duty instead, or just saved my cash and downloaded it.

Yeah, i thinnk they have probably tryed to copy eve. which it is very much like.
However the economy in eve is alot more developed (it has to be with 5000 users) and offers alot more.

Hopefully they will patch X2 up to something along the same lines, and then maybe it will be worth playing. it does look amazing tho
