I just had cause to visit the Microsoft Update site (for my work machine, honest) and once again clicked the "Do not install Internet Explorer 8" button. When I did so, it flashed up the description of the update that I was in my ignorance disabling, and my eye was caught by the first sentence:

What I mean to say is: What the hell kind of supreme arrogance is that? Thank you for telling me which browser I am most comfortable with, Microsoft! I hadn't realised previously.

Date: 2009-06-10 03:39 pm (UTC)Meh, I have never used any kind of external AdBlock, I resent third parties sitting between me and my content censoring what I see (even if the intent is altruistic). I rely entirely on my own internal filters, and as a result I can quite happily read any webpage on any platform without seeing a single advert. My eyes just slide right over them.

I am! And I am also a heavy user of Chrome's built-in DOM browsing functionality. I still occasionally have to jump back out to Firebug as it's slightly more reliable (Chrome will occasionally misinterpret where my cursor is or deal badly with dynamic elements).
