Technically, the word "Ewok" is Expanded Universe material, as it is not used on-screen at any point in the movies.
"It was in the picture books, and the comics, and the sticker books, and on the toy packaging, and in all the publicity. Which is just as well, because it wasn't mentioned even once in the film Return of the Jedi."

If it's in the script then I'd say it a little more than expanded universe.
