REMEMBER ME
Sep. 24th, 2008 11:09 amI was just trying to remember the exact address of Alex's old house, to put on the "residence history" section of our application form, but my old journal entries seem sparse on specifics and I can't be bothered trawling through too much of it. I was pretty sure it was 202 but couldn't think of any way to verify it short of asking the man himself.
However, a search for "202 Barton Road" Stretford brought up a notice regarding the estate of one Glynn Scott Carter (among others, sorted alphabetically).
I didn't know Glynn well, but it's still moving to stumble across him like that.

Date: 2008-09-24 04:53 pm (UTC)Unfortunately (depending on your viewpoint), I believe that Glynn would have been entitled to some sort of death in service benefit from the Co-op/CIS when he died, which is usually at least 1 times, and up to 3 times your salary when you die. And, even more unfortunately, the way that the laws of intestacy work, and given the probable value of that pay-out, and given the almost non-existent nature of any other assets, she will, as I understand it, have walked away with a nice chunk of cash.
Which is why you should have a Will, even if the only thing you have to leave is a complex family situation.....
