Feb. 9th, 2004 11:32 amLook out! Aliens!
Okay, yeah, weekend. Friday: Exalted. Much fun was had by all, with very little effort on
ghostbritain's part. He just threw a few of encounters at us and we bickered about it for three hours. We were all drinking, including
bacony, despite her earlier insistence that she would not get drunk until she knew where she stood with
stsquad since she did not want to accidentally fall into his crotch. Presumably they had that discussion during the thirty seconds that elapsed between us arriving and the wine being opened (they went off together and came back hugging, with wine). Huzzah! I am certain that it will be a positive experience for both of them. If nothing else, Alex needs experience dating somebody who isn't Max. Not that Katy "dates" as such, she doesn't seem to have that middle gear - she goes straight from "single" to the "regular sex" stage of the relationship. Which obviously saves a lot of fannying about if you already know the person in question reasonably well. It is rather disconcerting to have to update one's social map so quickly though.
But anyway.
Saturday involved waking up at Alex's and hanging around before going home. Note to future self: Driving after playing Grand Theft Auto is never a good plan. Luckily the trip passed without incident.
From Saturday afternoon to Sunday evening I was hanging around with the lovely (sorry, I mean, dark and gritty)
batelf and watching TV - mostly Toonami, home of the finest shows around (and the Dragonball family). This new series of He-Man (or more completely, "He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe Versus The Snakemen") is going from strength to strength - plot, character development, continuity and some of the greatest fight scenes known to man. They're not just dreary slugfests, they're intricately woven tapestries that use each character's special abilities in new and imaginative ways. Also, He-man was throwing mountains at people with one hand. And it's nice to see that even when he's all armoured up, he still shows a goodly amount of flesh. Something for the ladies, there. (Check out the new intro on Toonami Digital Arsenal's He-Man downloads page.)
When Mr Perry headed home, I decided to take
ghostbritain up on his earlier offer of japes - as, apparently, did Mr Simon Lloyd and his bit of Fluff. Naturally, we both chose to ring just as Nook and Nev had got bored of watching Charmed and decided to shag. What are the chances of that happening? Anyway, we all went around Nook's place and played Kill Doctor Lucky and then watched Smallville - another show going from strength to strength, IMO. It was the episode where Perry White turns up just as Clark's powers are going haywire due to solar flares. Great fun, and much better than the bad old days of "Kryptonite Powered Villain Of The Week".
Then I went home and ordered some chinese trousers from Playwell (it's looking increasingly as though I have committed, in my heart and mind, to Clan Anaguma at Maelstrom, even though I am still resolved not to commit on paper until the rules arrive). And then to bed. Then I got up and came to work. Then I opened up LiveJournal. The End. STOP TALKING.
