You keep using it as an objective statement, however, when it is clear that the horribleness of motorola phones is subjective, because I keep buying them.

Also, are you basing your opinion on just the razr?

I have used others of their phones but can't remember the names. It is the OS/GUI I find horrible. The hardware is very nice but not nice enough to make up for the software

I'm with Aidan on this one. The Motorola phones are a triumph of style over substance. Sure they may look nice and Star Trekky but the actual implementation of the software sucks balls.

I know that it can be fiddly at times, the lack of bulk-update type functionality and the tendency to forget about contact->image links when you change the image in any way has grated on occasion. Also, the way it names media files "dd-mm-yyyy" instead MSD-first is vexing.

However, the main reason I buy a phone is to make phone calls, and it does that with ease.

Hell if you want to be style concious, start saving up for an Iphone when they're released in Europe. They should have solved the traditional 1st generation problems by the time they get over here.

I don't want it so I can wear it on my wrist or look dashing while I make mobile calls, or because anyone else in particular has one. I want it because it is made of sex!

And as far as Iphones go, I remain suspicious of any phone with the primary screen is on the exterior. Phone goes in pocket...

Speaking as someone who used to sell mobile phones, I concur with much of the general sentiment here that Motorolas are shit.

Personally I find the actual hardware to be nasty, and generally somewhat fragile and prone to breaking.
