I have a new a new animated crush: BROCK SAMSON from the Venture Bros cartoon.

EDIT: NOT SAFE FOR WORK unless it's safe for you to watch cartoons on YouTube at work. Also, animated violence and implied sexual content.

It's good but also soooo wrong on many differant levels..having watched that entire episode you suggested to on MSN...I like the animation stylee.

Me too. As near as I can gather, the first series is Flash animation, and they move over to traditional hand-drawn cel animation for the second season (which is where that episode was from). It's noticeably better.

I think Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is the only Flash-animated series that really does it properly.

oooh ok. cell animation is more expensive and slower but sooo much better.

most series tend to go the other way to cut costs and speed up poroduction, cell to cgi. lol

I'd guess in this case they made the first series on a shoestring, then it was more successful than they expected so they got more budget for the second.

Actually I'm no longer completely sure they did use Flash ... I've seen a few Flash-style clips but I've also seen a lot from the first season that were clearly hand-animated. Maybe the CGI was just used for the pilot or something.

The opening titles have some pretty shokcing CGI in them.

A quick trawl of the net should provide answers.
