Strange spam

I'm getting a lot of weird spam today. It's like somebody has finally flipped and completely lost sight of why they're trying to dodge spam filters in the first place. The mails contain no attachments, no links, arrive as plain text* and mention no products, emails or any other coherent content save a brief passage of randomly generated prose.
you....
which they flew, their wingtips moving a precise and constant inch from
because you can't press them together, and no one's been able to pull them
that? What does it feel like? How far can you go?"

* Admittedly this may have something to do with [livejournal.com profile] stsquad's webmail client being clever and stripping out special characters, or something. It does usually offer the option of seeing the HTML or otherwise dodgy version, though, even if it's picked it up as spam.

does indeed filter out a lot of HTML. You can see the full unedited message if want by logging in to the server and using a commandline client.

according to gmail I periodically get mails with no sender, no recipient, no subject & no body. Makes you wonder how they know I got an email...

I've had similar. No idea why. I tend to just ignore them. At least they aren't trying to sell me things I don't want or need, have never wanted nor needed and couldn't buy if I did want or need due to being American based...

I've also had the no sender or message body mails (though if you highlight them sometimes you can see the sender's e-mail address. Or at least a sender's e-mail address...)

I thought it might be random IC seer visions.
I was going to save them and give them to unsuspecting players.

I get weird shit spam like that. Only to my work email address, not to gmail or hotmail. It is very strange

I manage the anti-spam filter at work. I've had to add the words 'bilbo' 'gandalf' 'thorin' 'dragon' and 'hobbit' to the block list after a spate of spams using random extracts from The Hobbit.
