Weekend In Review
Jul. 3rd, 2006 10:37 amFriday evening at
mistressp and
sareuth's wedding disco was fun - I look forward to seeing pictures or something of the ceremony itself (to which I was not invited).
Saturday went over to
batelf's for an evening of light conversation and alcohol. everybody present has an LJ account but I am lazy so will not link them all.
wiserabbit was shocked and appalled by the same topic of conversation not once but twice, leading me to conclude that there is some sort of profanity filter between her short and long-term memory. In her mind we are all delightful folk who do not discuss each others' genitalia or who has taken whom up which orifice. She is a delicate flower to be treasured. Later, those of us dirty stop-outs who slept over watched Moulin Rouge, which destroyed me, as it always does. I am not sure why I do not yet own this movie. I want to make love to it.
... Anyway.
Sunday involved a journey to the cinema to watch Over The Hedge. This was not without difficulties. Our first cinema (Red Cinema at the Lowry) was broken by the rain; there was a sudden torrential downpour (still audible when we entered the theatre) and, five minutes into the movie, it cut out and the lights came up. Ten minutes later they got the projector rolling again but the film had been running all that time and could not be rolled back. The staff were surprised when we asked for our moneys back. So we proceeded to another cinema (AMC, in the city centre) to enjoy the whole thing. It turned out that the ten minutes we'd missed were possibly the most important in terms motivation and character introduction, so we were glad we'd decided to see it in full.
BTW, it's a damned good movie, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a sucker for a well done super-speed sequence (q.v.) .
Got in to work to find a client has sent over some requested changes in the form of a Powerpoint™ presentation. Who does that? What kind of mind does that? Oh well. Off to work we go.
