Legal eagles may be interested to learn of the Pretty Inferno Act of 1957.

Voting fever has not hit our office. There was some discussion of whether or not voting was compulsory, and one girl was heard to remark, "I don't really care who's ... in charge of ... whatever." I am reminded that, ill-informed and apathetic though I am, I at least care enough to go through with that cursory research and knee-jerk response.

Problem with it is, all the political parties seem to be the *same* nowadays. I see no real differences between any of them, there isn't a single one I actually trust to be honest, true, and committed to the good of the people. They *all* come across as sleazy, selfish, power mad wankers who I'd love to watch drowning in a septic tank. I only registered to vote so I can vote for anyone that *isn't* the BNP. If the apathetic people don't vote against them, they're seeming to be getting in, and I *do not* want to live in a country where those hate filled fuckers get into offices of political power.

Hear hear. We voted Green. We have also voted on the 'who's got silliest name' principle as long as it was a party we're OK with. Nick may have considered Lib Dem, but the canditate phoned him up and the first question asked was "Who are you voting for?" How rude thought Nick you've lost my vote. Now if he'd entered into a discussion about policies, informed Nick of what they claim to be planning and then asked if he would consider voting for him, he may have had a vote. It appears they have no idea on how to present themselves.

one girl was heard to remark, "I don't really care who's ... in charge of ... whatever." Am assuming she's not heard of Emily Pankhurst.

Emily Pankhurst?

Wasn't she one of the first people voted out in Big Brother last year?

I didn't get any voting info - was it only certain areas for this vote...?

I vote whenever I get told I can - Partly coz there were women who died to enable me to be able to vote and similarly to rob_e_coyote - so that I help to discourage the more idiotic of groups from getting anywhere near 'in'. (I also vote Green when I can!)

Cool! Thank you - Nope - I wasn't supposed to vote. Weirdly - if I'd already moved to Leeds, then I would have been able to! Strange how the world works...
