Chickens hatch from eggs, but eggs are laid by reptiles, so clearly the egg appeared earlier. Now, if the question was specific to chicken eggs, I would say something disparaging about mankind's obsession with determining a moment of change over a slow, natural progression.

Hi. I'm from scans_daily, poking around. Just saying that you are the only other person I have ever heard of who answers that to the chicken and egg question. It is, of course, the obviously correct answer. I don't know why it never caught on.
