On weekends

Back from SoS (to which I did indeed go in the end). It was enjoyable enough, though the weekend was very much undersubscribed. The optimists among us put this down to it being a December event, and one immediately following Vikings! at that, though there were some rumblings that an attendance of fifteen did not bode well for the club. I think I recall lower attendance in the past - mostly at December events in the days when half the club were students, and again in the summers for day events. Certainly I recall having five-a-side linears before.
Well, low attendance aside, it was entertaining enough.
Tonight: Off to see Narnia with
maddam and his family. Possibly
marlwolf as well, I forgot to ask. Anyway. ASLAAAAN!

I was normally one of the optimists, but this time it wasn't only the low turnout, but the fact that half the peoople there didn't seem bothered about trying to do any LRP - if I hadn't started organising a tavern, god only knows how long everyone would have spent sitting around OOC waiting for someone else to make a decision or get things started. It won't necessarily die, but effort has to come from somewhere to keep the club running (it'll certainly need people to stand for committees at the AGM and really needs some active rectruiting for new members too) - what I think might happen is that nobody will be willing to put the effort into running the club, so it'll just stop happening
