In other news: CoH wants me back, it's offering me five free days.  (Well, the ability to play between certain dates, meaning I'm already wasting my five days.)  Because apparently they have a new forest location, and Sonic and Archery power sets.

Archery!

I think if I was creating CoH I'd do away with specific powers conjuring specific weapons, and instead code generic projectile weapon powers, the animations for which would vary depending on what (otherwise cosmetic) items the character was generated with.  Because an Archery powerset?  That's just silly.

All the heroes with bows and arrows should be repeatedly shot with guns, moreso if they use arrows with boxing gloves on the end of them.

CoH is ... tempting. But when would I have time between World of Warcraft and my World of Warcraft addiction?

It just seems odd to devote an entire powerset to it. Powersets are broad, sweeping things like "energy manipulation" or "martial arts". Having an "archery" powerset makes as much sense, to me, as a powerset devoted to heat vision. It's a ranged attack, with some cosmetic differences.

But then, I guess at the end of the day that's all the different powersets boil down to - cosmetic differences. So, what the hell.
