Introspection

Occasionally when I travel down a certain road, there is a moment when I question my bearings.  "Is this really the road I want?" I ask.  "Or am I taking this road because I am secretly scared of the other?  Is there some deep-seated psychological reason I have selected this route over the other, more well-travelled boulevard?  Is this, in fact, doomed to failure because I am a mass of neuroses and fundamentally flawed?"

Then I consider how fine this path feels, and compare it to the lack of anything resembling a stir that (with some small exceptions) the other avenue produces, and come to the conclusion that we are all basically masses of our own perculiar neuroses and psychoses, and hang the reasons, if it feels good then what the hell.


On a less obtuse note, today was nice.  Went walking with myki, samharber and queenbiff, something like six miles around Rivington, Sam reckoned.  Then we retired to the pub (along with richc and ajon) for some drinkies.  (None for me, thanks, I'm driving.)  And then to Sam's house for movies and takeaway.  Got very comfy, which was very nice indeed, as I was starting to worry that Friday may have been a fluke.

Alright, still slightly obtuse.  Those who have been paying attention should be able to figure it out.

In completely mundane news, tonight sees me without light or water.  The bulb's gone in my room and the water's switched off (apparently the downstairs toilet has been overflowing).  I am typing by the light of a small desk-lamp.

Will write up the holiday soon, and possibly even my opinion of the Fantastic Four movie (brief: passable until half an hour from the end, a point roughly synchronous with Doom putting his mask on.  After that point it is the most appaling drivel), but now I must hastily finish the speech bubbles for this week's Special School before going to bed - early morning tomorrow as I head to the office.  Night all.

YOu're saying the fantastic four aren't the worst superteam, in common knowledge..... cause I really can't think of one thats worse.... actually I have more of a problem with em cause they have stupid enemies as well

I have a lot of issues with Marvel stuff.. I mean I have a lot of issues with D.C toobut I just never really liked F4 I don't like any of them. and most peopel agree that F4 suck ass.... and I follow the masses.. and as I said x-men are better (except cyclops..he's a cock)

okay 1) no need to insult people that don't agree with you idiots, it's needless and makes you seem small minded and like you have some problem you can only get over by belittling others

I admit due to my fairly instant dislike for them I never got overly into them to read beneath the surface... but Marvel has too many epic characters (as does d.c) besides I not talking about the comic in full Italking about the team itself.....(and not the new fan four....they are partially cool) see it's the actual team and galactus I really don't like...so any storyline with them in I wouldn;t pick up over say an x-mencomic with a high degree of rogue and nightcrawler (my favourite marvel characters) and you can;t exactly add in layers of inticately woven plot into a two hour (I presume) movie hence my point stands that it is all about identifying with and liking the team... now from trailers I have seen of the film it looks better than I would have thought and I want to see it. I was mainly making a cheap crack at the fantastic four

And Galactus, is by far, one of the most awesome characters ever created.

ARE YOU SERIOUS????? Galactus is a stupid character..as is phoenix....and apocalypse.....and all other if I really fancied destroying the earth I could characters....they are all a really bad idea.....

and I would almost be abletoidentify with human torch.. but he too over confident from stuff I seen (and the flame on thing just bugs me... I mean does he needto say it?? and if so does it work if anyone say's it?? If he's ating a sandwich and someone shouts flame on at him does he have to console himself with the fact toast is still edible???)

Thing is almost a likeable character but he is the obligatory big hitter.. that all superteams must have.. and doesn't overly have any quirks to take him from that thing (like rogue is a big hitter by accident and a woman, which at the time the character was created was a big thing)

I just never liked invisible woman at all or reed richards.. I have no real reason I just never identified with em... I mean you are welcome to your own opinion, but it's just that an opinion, neither of us are right and I doubt either of use honestly actually care about what we are saying......and at least they better than blade

I didn;t say Lame I said stupid.. my problem with the big characters in marvel is there are way way way too many of them.... makes it seem too much like at the end of the day it's only delaying the inevitable.. and wahst the point of a hero sacrificng their happiness to save mankind.. if at the end of the day it not gonna work... after a while loses impact

My problem withblade is he's a bully.... more so with film blade than comic blade... I just don't like that he at the edof the day is better than what he hunts intrinsically, I like my heros to struggle for their job

and no I have no opinion of aqua man... I seen him in a couple of comics but not many... and he a very low profile character if you not going after his comics or reading JLA stuff

And what is it that makes it so you can't say anything wihout needing to insult me in some way.... I mean really????????
I've been holding back from taking offense yet because I have no idea who you are and don;t really care but if you keep it up I'll have to not take it to heart some more... and then maybe not get angry... Sheesh can;t you get a point accross without being offensive... thats kinda sad

I find it kinda funny that you give this much of a damn, it's just comics... I've continued posting cause I'm bored as hell... I mean if someone said they don;t like nightwing I'dnot give a damn, or the outsiders or the titans.... now I no longer bored I will post what should of been my second post



Was a joke... I don;t really give much of a damn either way about em and Igonna watch the film if I can cause it looks cool

(but I actually don't overly like blade.... nice idea but he needs to be more flawed in my opinion..)

so whats you actualfavourite team / character

mines the outsiders (a d.c. team) and nightwing...(cause he like batman..only upbeat) but I also a fan of nightcrawler.. I like characters that are flawed.. nightwing is human, nightcrawler has to live with being a freak.. but they both fightfor what is good and right..andnightwing never kills which i like...like batman (HUGE timburton film issues...he murders henchmen out of hand in them it's soo annoying)

avengers are okay .everyone on the planet likes wolverine, spiderman's a slightly less common choice.. a lot ofpeople like him but a lot don;t like the greatpower great responsibility angle (Ithinkit's a nice dea to have a hero's with consciences) and wasn't expecting batman... batman's coolbut it's a bitch getting into batman these days... too many different storylines at once and stuff (I know I tried.. I gave up.. I started collecting nightwing.. and am kinda glad I did) I have recently read all the teen titans stuff from 1986 to.. just before graduation day

Mine's actually superman (he's too...well super..and the kryptonite thing fits with D.c's thing of going and here is our next wonderfully powerful character... but lets give him a weakness)

I was actually shocked when I recently read the first collected graphic novel of the Joss Whedon X-Men. He actually managed to somehow make Cyclops sympathetic and interesting without fundamentally changing his character.

personally , i didnt mind the ff4 comics and cartoons but it was mainly cos of the cool bad guys and stuff, the ff4 them selfs arent that great and heres
why i thing so :

Mr fantastic: he's power is fairly cool but what kind of ego must he have if he calls him self Mr Fantastic .come on really .

Human Tourch: he power is cool ,he can burn stuff and fly , little over conferdent but on the whole not bad

Invisible women:Her power is that no light reflects on the her ,so that means no light is reflecting of the make of her eye and there for is blind when she is invisible,

Thing: Final the thing his power is to be horrible deformed,and has the worst name for a superhero ever,
