So anyway, as I say, I'm planning to register a Special School .com address. Anyone have any advice on who to register with? Hostway seem to be slightly cheaper than UKReg, for example...
I've got a domain with 123Reg. Seems OK. The only annoying thing is that if you want to keep the domain name at the top of the screen (when hosting your site somewhere else), they do it using frames, and it doesn't update the address bar when you click on links within the site.
OTOH, I can't think of a better way to do it, so I can't really complain too much...
Is that 123Reg's free service? I'd be looking to pay for actual domain registration, rather than web forwarding, since SpiderForest claim to be able to host domains.
It's a paid-for registratoin service. You can then configure them to either forward to another address (which I do), link the url to a specific IP or to do other scary things that I don't quite understand (but which are probably quite simple if you know what you're doing).
