Now with added punchlines

Tuesday's episode of Special School has just gone live.  For those of you really eager beavers out there, if you want to sit at your computers at around this time on Friday morning rabidly refreshing your browsers, it would really help skew my hitcount.

This strip marks my first attempt at an actual punchline, as opposed to dark irony or character bits.  Or something.

One question I have about it - why is it apparently cold enough for her to be wearing a hat, gloves and scarf, while he's standing there in, like, a t-shirt?

I woud think that metallic exoskelliton would mak ehim even more cold.

He has a degree of low-level invulnerability all the time, which keeps him warm and protects him from minor scrapes. The big lumps really only pop up in response to massive physical trauma. They're not metallic either - they're compacted biological tissue, like super-bruises. I think they pop up at the exact moment of impact, like airbags...

I've not yet decided whether they flake off or sink back down.

I refreshed my browser a few times and the hit count went up but I'm not sure whether it counts - it not being Friday as specified above...

That would be cool, I've always enjoyed characters that cross over into different stories. Though looking at the pacing I'd say the appearances would be very occasional - it's taken them like a month to get halfway through the conversation!
