RE: Ecclestone. I've lost a bit of respect for him. I mean, he must have known how Dr Who works, and signing up for one series was a very naughty thing to do. Typecasting? How could that not have occurred to him before he started? I dunno, I really dunt.
I know. Up till recently he was saying he was comfortable with the notion of filming for sevent months a year for the next two-three years ... I think perhaps he took the role thinking it would be edgy and indie and maybe it's being a bit too widely-accepted and mainstream for his liking.
Personally, though I doubt it would ever happen, I would like to see him regenerate into Richard E Grant, so they could work the Scream of the Shalka into continuity.
On a Radio One interview this week (or maybe late last week), he mentioned to Jo Wiley that he would 'consider' not definately do another series. It's actually downloadable as a sound file (the interview thing that is).
Of the people likely to take the role according to the BBC, I favour Richard E Grant or possibly Bill Nighy. However, neither would be as good as myki.
Yay me! But have you considered the benefits of having an "actor" play the role? Izzard or Bill Bailey would do a bang up job. I'd like to see a hippy Who, wouldn't you?
Yay for your interview! Good luck (again - you're using all your luck token this week! ;->) Boo for Ecclestone quitting Dr. Who! I really liked him as the Doctor in the first episode and I expect I will in all the others. Now he quits after one paltry season of 13 episodes - he's lucky he's not working in the US...
Ps. When can I come and see it? Now that I think about it I'm probably busy intil Saturday, which seems to almost defeat the object. Unless I could come round Saturday afternoon and watch both 1 and 2 back to back?
I'm also busy until Saturday. Your suggestion sounds like a good one. However, if you wish to incorporate booze into the evening and crash over then I'd better advise you that I will be up at 8am Sunday and in need of my living room at 9am Sunday as I've a Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA) to complete for my OU course.

Amusingly the agency guy advised me to "just relax". You can tell he has not met me.
