As is by now widely known (judging by my Friends list), the first episode of the new Doctor Who series has been leaked to the internet, three weeks before the series has even begun transmission.

Would you like to know more? Of course you would.

Chasing the story up, I find Outpost Gallifrey has just undergone a design overhaul, and it looks like they too favour the Doctor Who Confidential take on the logo. Though, sensibly, they've kept the official series logo for the specific New Series pages (and at the same time, the pages regarding the old series have been relabelled "Classic Who").

Skimming down those new series news pages, we note that the March 26 (7pm) air date has been confirmed via Radio 4's "Front Row" presenters, though officially BBC1 has yet to make an announcement. I heard something similar in a recent interview with Sylvester McCoy - he's in some theater production or other (lost the link), but the interviewer took the opportunity to get his opinion on the new series. That presenter, though, confessed to being a bit of a Who nut, so he may well have picked the air date up from fan sites...

Anyway, back to the leak story. According to OG the leak is courtesy "an unidentified employee of a foreign broadcaster of the show", so we can wag our fingers at those dirty foreign devils. Personally I'm going to be putting my fingers in my ears until the actual broadcast, as if you're going to do something you should probably do it right. If you're interested, though, OG has linked a few reviews, both negative and positive. I, however, have done little more than skim.

So the series has the Warren Ellis seal of approval, which has got to count for something.
