The Evening's Entertainment

Spent the afternoon in the company of Mistress bacony and Master batelf, taking the former on a tour of Manchester's wholesale food purchase outlets, and later joining the latter in eating the meal prepared as a result of the former latter.  Much TV was watched (being the final three episodes of Firefly, closely followed by the first four or five episodes of Stargate) and many comics were read (mostly by me, as I had for some reason decided to bring only the last two weeks' worth of my comics for Katy and Chris to read).

I do not see them enough, and this should be rectified.  batelf has invited me to their Tuesday Adventure! game when it starts up again (in six weeks) - if the Bolton-based Tuesday night geek has not reawakened before them I may take him up on it.  It has been too long since I did any tabletop.

While driving around I missed a phone call from ajon who was apparently inviting me to an evening of board games and larks at their place, in lieu of Friday's aborted event (appropriated by gowhonker, if you recall, to show off his new lady love to everyone who mattered - not that I'm bitter).  I failed to get back to her; hopefully she took this to mean I was not coming, which I was not.

I wonder if she is busy tomorrow.

Hiya,

I emailed you but in case you haven't seen it - Sam's cooking tonight. Or maybe you were referring to yesterday in which case we were having our romantic night in. Rich cooked sushi followed by lobster afterwards. Yum. There is spare sushi for a snack tonight which I could bring to Sam's as a starter.

Nook is being far too protective of Michelle which we (who were allowed to meet her on Friday) have pointed out to him and Michelle agreed. Hopefully, he'll quit doing that soon.
I didn't realise until I rang Al that people had been excluded and I had already read your plans to stay at Chez Bennee and eat pancakes so I didn't call you. Paul had already invitd Steve and Rachael but they didn't turn up - they never do.

It's fair enough if he wants to keep her under wraps for whatever reason, it's his choice. I'm just a bit miffed that it's interfering with other people's plans now.

"Hey let's go to the pub instead" is fair enough, as is "I'm not coming I want to spend time with my woman". On the other hand, "Hey you selected people come to the pub instead ps let's not tell anyone hee hee" is a bit thoughtless.

I might have come over to join you if I wasn't so clearly not invited...

Yeah, hopefully. I was begining to wonder if he'd done himself a mischief and was about to send Sam around to make sure the cats weren't subsisting on his slowly decomposing corpse. I would like to see him and his missus at some point, even if I am so socially malajusted as to be unpresentable to his lady love.

Nook being overprotective

He apologised to me after I had spoken to him and said that we could come after all. I guess he was anxious about her meeting everyone en masse. I think he's realised that his exclusionist activity was upsetting people (accidentally or not).
