After an otherwise productive hour in Stretford (applying to transfer JSA claim, purchasing some small foodstuffs and birthday card for sister) I was only able to find a single wallet on sale, being in Burtons, and being of the type that does not actually hold any monies, only cards of the plastic variety.  What is up with that?  Are wallets no longer fashionable?

I don't know your neck of the woods, but it does sound like it could be a product of the immediate environment.

Maybe only the proletariat uses money any more.

The last wallet I bought (about two years ago) was from Next - it cost about £10 for a good leather one with sufficient space for cash and cards.

Might be worth a look if there's one convenient to you.

Markets are often good for this kind of thing. Don't know about Stretford, but the indoor market at the Mancester Arndale has a couple of stalls specialising in suitcases, bags, wallets etc that usually have a pretty good choice.

I'm not sure who is more damned by this but I read "JSA" and thought "Justice Society of America" and assumed you were changing which comic shop you were using.*

*Or suing the JSA for property damage, whichever.

I had to resort to Halfords, and now have a wallet that has been lowered and lightened with carbon fibre to, presumably, increase it's 0-60 speed.

In purple, of course, and the spoiler creates a big enough downforce to keep the damn thing shut in Halfords which is no mean feat.

TK Maxx is a godsend for that sort of thing, next and 'surf' shops are also reasonable. Some surf shops also sell ones with waterproof bits for keeping keys in while your hooking awesome tubage.
