Dec. 27th, 2005 07:09 pmChristmas, still in Ilkley, but wanting to post a link to this article I read in Monday's Times (which my uncle Bob reads). An overenthusiastic review of Sunday's Doctor Who Christmas special, with which (block caps aside) I take issue only on the following passage:
The precise nature of the umbrage I have taken is left as an exercise for the reader.
Of course, gay men always give the most exquisite and generous of gifts, so it was little wonder that Russell T. Davies, the head writer and fairy godfather of Doctor Who (BBC One), made the "Christmas Day special" not just a treat for those ovulating on the 25th — which, to be frank, would have been every female viewer at the point where David Tennant burst out of the Tardis for the first time — but a thrill for everyone.
The precise nature of the umbrage I have taken is left as an exercise for the reader.
