D&D last night was a lot of fun; a total lack of combat, which apparently resulted from [livejournal.com profile] arwel's Paladin being less eager to smite people purely on the basis of his deity saying they were evil than was previously thought. This may be because various people (NPCs, mostly) shouted at him when he jumped a group of evil lizardmen, or it may be because these people were not lizardmen and thus deserved a chance to prove themselves. Or, you know, a combination of the two. So we spent three hours roleplaying (with the evil NPCs constantly trying to pick fights while not being explicitly evil), which was fun. Right up until the end when [livejournal.com profile] ghostbritain decided we should vote on the best roleplayer and give them more XP, and I didn't get any votes at all. I hate you all. Darn you all to Heck!

So this weekend is going to be our only chance to have any sort of big moving event, what with our packed social lives and all (next weekend Katy and Alex are both at Glastonbury). There's a number of things we should probably arrange...

- Transportation for sofas. [livejournal.com profile] spodula, what are you doing at the weekend, and would we be able to borrow the SoS trailer? I'm expecting the answer to be no, what with short notice and the trailer being full of SoS kit, but you never know till you ask, so. Oh, one of the sofas is a smidge over six feet long, and I can't remember how big the trailer is, so the point may be moot anyway. If the lovely Graham is unavailable (or the trailer is unsuitable), I suppose we'll just have to hire a van.
- Alex, can I have a key at some point? I'm sure it will make moving easier and I'm sure it will make living with you much more convenient for all involved.
- Er. I could have sworn there was more.

Oh well.

OH BTW BTW - while I remember - Katy, NTL said they would be taking the cable box away on TUESDAY 29th JUNE in the evening. Do you think you could see your way to being in that night? If not I can probably ring and rearrange ... I'll talk to you about it in person but I thought I'd get it down before I forgot.

Pulled from Scott Kurtz: Garfield - an exercise in mediocrity.
Apparently Jim Davis set out from the very beginning to make Garfield as middle of the road as humanly possible, something you would chuckle at out of habit and then immediately forget. Sort of subliminal, or rather background noise, advertising. Any time the character was on the verge of becoming too prominent, he would cull some merchandise - those Garfield sucker toys weren't pulled because of poor sales, but because they were too popular.

Ah ha ha ha ha ha .... it's so crazy it has to be true! Apparently Slipknot are big Doctor Who fans, even basing a track on their latest album on the theme tune. If you believe The Sun (UK tabloid version), the BBC "are interested in getting them involved" in the new series...

I just like the way the Cyberman is slipped in there.

Okay, for any CoH players who don't check the website (like me), here is a
link to the details of the coming update that I found over on Penny Arcade. That's an update, not an expansion pack.

OOOOOOH. It's patch-tastic!

Also, now that I've actually seen the movie, I thought I'd read the Prizoner of Azkaban in Fifteen Minutes. And saw that it was good.
Faster, plebe! I do believe I have the vapors!

Am slightly perturbed that the only nice things people can find to say about me are that I have nice hair and am rude. But then I remind myself, it wasn't "say nice things about Andy," it was "Say nice things about anybody," and I haven't actually gone in there and said anything nice about anyone else, now have I?

But, that's because I love everybody and they know it, so.

(Note to self: Be less of a cunt.)
