(no subject)

Spent some time this morning staring at the cover of JLAvengers #3. I think they were going for ever current and previous member of each team ever, so I was looking for obscure people I know have been in the JLA. I'm pretty sure neither Nuklon nor El Diablo are on there, despite several other members of the Gerard Jones era (including The Yazz!), so they lose points there... and I also noticed that Bloodwynd (Jurgens-era) appears to have done the old scool photo trick of running from one end of the crowd to the other. That can be forgiven, though, since there are multiple versions of other heroes wearing different costumes (featuring Hank Pym as Ant Man, Giant Man, Yellowjacket ... etc).

Plans for the weekend: I have to be in Ilkley for Saturday afternoon to travel down south somewhere for my schoolfriends' Christmas party. This may involve an overnight stop, I'm not sure. The point, though, is that if anybody wants to do something on Friday night I'm available, but if nobody says anything in advance I might spend the night in Yorkshire.

Weekend Plans

So, plans for the weekend.

Friday I will be driving home to Manchester and going to the pub. It will be the Woodstock. Sorry, arwel, much as I love you I remember the last time we went to the pub with your workmates - they stole you away from us. (I think it was you. It was definitely Kro2.) And this is your Christmas party so they'd actually have prior claim on you, or something. Woodstock is, broadly speaking, easier and more appealing.

Then on Saturday I get the train back to Ilkley, to be picked up by my old friend Paul who will drive me to Coventry to be with the people that I still consider to be my friends despite only seeing them twice a year. It's not like they're just "old school friends," this isn't Friends Reunited, these were my friends. We were the geeks who stayed after school to roleplay, and played Magic: The Gathering in our lunchbreaks (I never bought any cards, just sponged off them). And we never talk, and it's wrong. Anyway. I assume we're staying overnight (it's supposed to start at 7 and it would be a bit late to drive home by that point) so I'll be back in Ilkley on Sunday. From there I will get the train back to Manchester - hopefully in time for icklejo's birthday pubbage. Then on Monday I drive to work and back to Bolton as per usual for D&D-related kicks. And that's the weekend.
