Yes, I am not averse to stealing characters from books. But they are nearly always obscure, and usually substantially modified.

Ah ... I've found some on Outpost Gallifrey, and a couple in Google's cache of fanfiction.net (though the stories seem to have vanished from the site itself - maybe they dump fics over a certain age). Most of the search results are somebody using "Chris Cwej" as a screen name though...
