Headlights behave very oddly. A bit jittery until I actually start the enjin, then it's fine - until I actually turn them all the way off, when they won't come on again. I'll just have to remember not to turn the lights off until I want them off, I suppose.

Sadly this is not an option, what with it being dark all the time now and me working in the arse-end of nowhere.

I have experimented with it while stationary. Once they're on and the motor's running they're fine unless I switch them all the way off; I can switch it back and forth between dip and side lights until the cows come home.

To recap. When I had it looked at a couple of weekends ago the AA man thought it was the Dip Beam Relay, then later the electrician fixed the relay (with a Cold Solder, which is probably not as interesting as it sounds) and said the problem was in fact in the light stem. Which would require purchase of a £130 steering assembly from Honda ... I will try and get one second hand and get it fitted somehow, but it's not something that will be fixed before morning (or even evening).

Your life of course, however driving in the dark is never as fun as it they make it look on those Army recruitment ads. Not to mention highly illegal. Do you not have holidays or even a half-way decent public transport system?

Seriously, the lights work fine. I may be driving in the dark but I'd never drive in the dark if you see what I mean.
