No, although if I did it wouldn't be a bad thing. After all Microsoft will on in effect paid me to run linux on their hardware.

There is a flaw in your math, being the part where you gain money. Microsoft haven't paid you anything, they've subsidised it, paying the hardware manufacturers...

Well, you get a piece of hardware cheaper than it would of cost buying it yourself. But we are logic chopping now....
