Am currently resisting the urge to respond to this post on Pagga.  The discussion has moved on, and it wouldn't really serve any purpose to drag it down into the gutter, but it's so tempting.

I think sound quality and post-processing may have had something to do with it - they did a reasonable job of echoey metal rooms, but the "outside on the mountains" scenes were quite poor. The actors did not look at all cold, there was clearly no wind to speak of, and they sounded like they were in a studio. Which they were. I get the impression that, in sound engineering, adding walls (i.e. echoes) is easy - taking them away is hard.

Nah, if anything the "stagey" feel added to the movie rather than subtracting from it. But maybe it would have worked better in the theatre? Presuming, of course, that the technology exists to create 3-D holographic scenery.
