Ah! Pictures.
The site was excellent, though Mr Andrews has here caught its very best side - some of the interiors (mostly carpets, stairs and chairs) owed more to its current Youth Hostel status than its historic origins. But these things could be ignored by simply looking up to admire the ceilings.
I suspect I may be slightly allergic to the hat; I had blamed it on the swarming midges until somebody mentioned the possibility of allergies, at which point I remembered that the other times I wore it I came down with similar attacks of forehead bites.
I feel I should note that Friday night was interesting, despite my early bed time. This was due to certain people deciding that the absolute best place to discuss my reputation and past history was outside my bedroom window. Loudly. Hee hee hee.
