Yes, Rob Liefeld was one of the Image founders. He had a very distinctive style of drawing, which unfortunately was then aped by all and sundry. I can't say I've ever noticed the perspective thing, but then I've only actually read one or two of his comics, and that was with an air of detatched disdain.
Actually I don't have a burning hatred for the man, I just find it amusing that Sosa does. Also, Chris Claremont.
