Straw Poll

This is mostly to try out the poll features.

But not exclusively so.

[Poll #333173]

[identity profile] wulfboy.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. Has the person in question met anyone else in the immediate social group and, more to the point, is said person perhaps looking for a new bunch of friends? You need to provide more information before the pollsters can make an informed division.

And is it bacon's birthday?

[identity profile] myki.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yup... sure is..

Um... I would say Stalker. Captital S.

[identity profile] angelic-angie.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
May be not be a stalker just a party monster. Some people are always willing to travel to go to what looks like a good party and also they may wish to expand their social circle and a party is a good way to do it.

[identity profile] myki.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Okay then I'll invite the hypothetical person to my party a week or so after Bacons... And we'll see.

[identity profile] angelic-angie.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
You're not supposed to listen to me, what if I'm wrong? What if hypothetical makes the bunny boiler look normal? Ahhhhhh the sense of responsibility is too much. *conscience meltdown*

[identity profile] mrssshhh.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
Is this hypohtetically [livejournal.com profile] pit_fishes?

Its just that in a bizare mirror, [livejournal.com profile] grendelchild did the reverse a couple of years ago.

It's perfectly harmless, and should be allowed with no worry or mockery, despite the fact that I voted for stalker. I'm allowd to be contadictory I tfeel.

[identity profile] bacony.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Tsk! He only said that he might. Y'know, if he could. He may have just been being polite, you dreadful people!

Surely Stockholm syndrome is only applicable if you’re a hostage.

[identity profile] myki.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry... We're very bad.

[identity profile] samharber.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
The two are interchangeable in my mind. Perhaps its just Ady in disguise putting on a bad scottish accent?

[identity profile] grendelchild.livejournal.com 2004-08-11 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
You're in for such pain when I see you next...

[identity profile] grendelchild.livejournal.com 2004-08-11 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you find no birthdays were involved and I only went on <lj user="bellagrim"'s recomendation. So Nyer.

I didn't realise it was your birthday soon.

And I've met you more than twice (not that we've talked).

And I don't live in Glasgow.

Or am I missing the point?
kneeshooter: (pooh)

[personal profile] kneeshooter 2004-08-09 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
No, my birthday is in November, you stole it three years after I claimed it.

Plus I'm likely to have a party so I'm hoping you'll be in Birmingham not Manchester then.

[personal profile] kneeshooter 2004-08-09 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure we've discussed birthdates in the past. Somewhen. Or maybe I just stalked it.

No, I'm not old. I am older. It's relative. Neither of us is [livejournal.com profile] pax_draconis for example.

If you came to Birmingham so I could stalk you, this simply makes me a more efficient stalker.

[identity profile] pax-draconis.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
If you wish to live to be any older, you'll avoid making cracks about my age in future.

I am not old. I am distinguised, wise and a little bit mysterious.

[personal profile] kneeshooter 2004-08-09 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
You are the perfect example though - being roughly as much older than me than [livejournal.com profile] kingandy is younger.

And you can't have it both ways.

Plus, isn't it a good way for you to get in on this thread - keeps you involved and all that ;-)

And no, I don't want to get any older. So if you can help with that let me know.

[identity profile] pax-draconis.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
You mentioned me first.

And I think you'll find there's no anatomical reason whatsoever that I can't have it both ways.

[identity profile] renniek.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
They might like parties. Or want to meet all the lovely Manchester people. Or have a free weekend and want to escape the boredom. I've visited friends in London a couple of times just because I felt like a weekend away and it gave me an excuse to waste all my money in Camden - did this to Ed's house when I didn't know them very well, and I've dropped in on the Sunderland chaps a coupel of times now - getting to know people is just another reason to visit. Glasgow to Manchester is quite a nice drive - it's an easy route, and there's some beautiful scenery and nice places to stop on the way through the Lake District.

Having said all that, I did vote for stalker. After all, [livejournal.com profile] bacony has the highest stalker-magnetism of any woman I know. Not that that should have affected my answer, what with it being an entirely hypothetical question

[identity profile] myki.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
So, your saying you're stalking Ed is that it?

[identity profile] renniek.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Ssshh! Don't tell [livejournal.com profile] lord_blipvert!

[identity profile] kestrana.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Really - were 'you' invited? Or accompanying a friend. Then not such a stalker.

[identity profile] pit-fishes.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe to be able to stalk someone you need to have line of sight on them occasionally. Which is quite hard when you live 200 miles away.

Nonetheless, I have dispatched the Ninja Hit Squad.

[identity profile] honeypossum.livejournal.com 2004-08-09 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I wondered where Weeble was. Oh, and not a stalker. Pit may have been outside my flat with a pair of binoculars and night visions a few months ago, but he wasn't stalking anyone. Much.

[identity profile] anne-l-davies.livejournal.com 2004-08-10 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"I believe to be able to stalk someone you need to have line of sight on them occasionally"

Not neccesarily.
