Some more things

Oh, rang ntl: - did I mention? They agreed to disconnect everything at the end of the month, but since I have to give them 30 days notice I'll still be a customer until the 12th of next month - this has the benefit that if I happen to get a house within that time (unlikely) I won't have to pay any kind of connection fee. If we eventually wind up in an area of Bolton that's supported by digital ntl, I'll probably consider going with them again - I like getting TV, phone and broadband from the same people. It's all one line rental.

I am discouraged by the house market. It's not necessarily that houses are too expensive right now - there seem to be a bundle around the Great Lever area that I could afford (£30-40K). It's just that when these houses come on the market, people are leaping on them. I suspect they aren't even bothering to view, they're just snapping them up on the basis that no matter how much work they need they're bound to make their cash back in a year or two. I may have to wait for the market to settle down (not in price, just speed) before buying. Which means I may have to start looking for rented accomodation.

In other news, Therm is now level 14 and can fly that is all.

Because we insist on little things like our house having floors and space enough for both of us to live. People buying as investment (ie not to live there) do not have these concerns...
