Have rang Your Move about housies; fixed up an appointment (pending confirmation) to view two tomorrow, one of which is in Great Lever, and also a meeting about a mortgage. Just to see what they can offer, really. I can see definite advantages to getting them both from the same place - the estate agent doesn't have to try so hard to convince the mortgage people that the house isn't a pile of crap, and there may be financial incentives - but I am also wary about such things as captive audiences and not shopping around. Though I have already shopped around a bit (ie, checked several mortgage calculators online).

Anyone?

UPDATE: One of them has gone, so I am ringing the Halifax about other housies in the area. More as we get it.
UPDATE UPDATE: Halifax no answer phone. Will try again tomorrow morning, hoping that they do same-day viewings, or that they do viewings on Sunday also.

A hell of a lot of estate agents will provide a free financial advisor to talk you through mortgages if you see a house they are marketing that you like. Taylors Nationwide estateagents do it as do a lot of others...it's worth asking them if you see one.
