CLOWN CARS + D&D + Music
Apr. 14th, 2004 11:11 amSaw a police car on the way to work today. It had the by-now-commonplace yellow-and-blue-checks on the side, except it really seriously went out of its way to cover the entire side of the vehicle (save windows and wheels, natch). Then I noticed, the roof and bonnet of the car were painted a bright red, leaving only a strip of white across the middle saying "ECILOP" (to be read in the rear view mirror).
Our noble police force are driving around in clown cars. Sad but true.
D&D last night was good. Plenty of happy fun interaction had by all, and Woodrun managed to level (again!) despite doing exactly two things during the session:
Really enjoying some of the tunes on the car tape
ghostbritain made for me. Electric Six is enjoyable, and the White Stripes are tolerable (except the part where Be Like The Squirrel comes on twice in a row, always fastfwd past that), and the Kill Bill tunes are pleasantly diverting (though I like some more than others). But the whole thing really picks up about halfway through Side B, with the L'Oreal advert music (the one with all the pianos that goes "Whoo-woo!"). That and the Ben Folds Five song and that one that goes "Get get get get get over it" (?) ... all good. Find me more songs like these, these are the songs I like.

D&D last night was good. Plenty of happy fun interaction had by all, and Woodrun managed to level (again!) despite doing exactly two things during the session:
- Shoot ineffectually at an Ankheg (well, I actually hit it three times and did it a reasonable amount of damage. It's just that
arwel's new character then did it, in a single blow, enough damage to have killed it outright anyway). - Almost die from poisoning self. Really, severely, almost die. Would have died, in fact, if it hadn't been for
pkgem's quick-thinking with the potion of Lesser Restoration (Constitution loss happened in two waves), and amulet of +2 constitution. Went down to 3, up to 5, then down to 1. Phew. Good night's rest sorted that out, what with Gem deciding to memorise Lesser Restoration spells and all. Will not be playing with poison again. I was just so eager to get some kind of fighting bonus that doesn't come from arcane magic ... and then stupid arcane magic goes and saves me. Stupid religion. (Of course, we don't actually have any way of determining whether the amulet is arcane or divine, which is why I conceded to wear it...)
