Growing concerned about Maelstrom packs. Event is this Friday (some people were planning on turning up Thursday!), and they remain conspicuous by their absence.

rich_bull seems to have had his, but I don't know if that's because Eidolon players get theirs early or what... Seems to me that they could make use of the website to at least get important character-related information out to the players, but they'd probably reject that on the basis that it would be giving web-enabled players an advantage (or something).

UPDATE: Volcano God has updated the Details thread. Packs are out, should arrive tomorrow/Thursday. We will have the luxury of 1-2 days to digest the race/profession-specific secret player info and consider the ramifications to our characters. Huzzah!

I think Rich's background was so off base thet they sent him the Eidolon details so he could fix it.

Lammies can be done at GOD? Are you mad? Everyone's going to have lammies, I think I have 8 or 9 and I dread to think how many the gun bunnies will have, there's going to be thousands of them. Tickets aren't that much of a problem since they can check your name on the door.

Well, everybody has to go to GOD before they go IC anyway (to get their piccies taken), and there is a case to be made for checking suitability of physreps before they're attached too...

Ah right, gotcha. I thought you were suggesting that it would be ok to print them out at GOD. I was assuming we'd get them handed out at GOD

Tickets they can do with a check list.

Lammies take time to produce, generate big long queues and peopel saying things like 'well I do have this live saving balm, but it's, uhm, in my bag or something'.

There's the issue of proof of identity...

The lammie production issue is a worry, but entirely distinct (in my mind) from the mail pack one.

No LRP event I've ever been to before has ever asked for proof of ID in that situation.

This is true. It does not, however, stop me fretting. ;)

I think it best that everyone's in the same boat, at least this way no one has the advantage of having time to prepare.

So, as it turns out, those people who do not work have the advantage - they get their packs a full eight hours ahead of the rest of us, which at this stage is a nontrivial proportion of available time (with roughly 48 hours till event, 8 hours is about 16% more time)...

God Damn I want my pack. It is waiting for me at home. DAMN DAMN DAMN.

Don't have pack yet ... must get pack. I understand they were posted during yesterday which should mean 2nd post today or tomorrow for the bulk of us. My background was unsuitable and I was the first person to book by a week apparently and My P was very generous and let me know what the eidolon bit contained via email.

The risk is that you get so inside you find that you are on the inside, then he starts giving you little jobs to do.

At Vampire we used to call this "darksiding" and

rich_bull ended up the victim of it. You slowly lure them in, ask them to do a few jobs, the next thing they know they're reffing. Heh heh.

All I can say is "appreciate your maps". Then maybe buy a print.
