War journal: Day 2

Working again. Today started at 10AM, since I couldn't get into the office before Will arrived. (I wasn't waiting outside, I hung around at home until he rang to let me know he was on his way in.)

Just wasted an hour trying to figure out why the processed address list was being imported into the database as unprocessed. Finally realised there were two different files, and I was in fact importing from the unprocessed one. THAT WOULD EXPLAIN IT.

And downstairs, the DB server is shrieking that one of its logical drives needs rebuilding. It's been doing that for 24 hours now. It needs to die.

Oh, last night was fun, watched BATMAN (excellent) and THE AVENGERS (stylish, if a little stiff, and hard to follow because the dialogue was so very quiet). Also the first episodes of the second seasons of Black Books and Spaced. Drank a little booze, though nobody else was. Don't care. Drowning sorrows.

Work now.

Awww! Poor Andy! I would have joined you cheerfully in booze, but I'm not allowed. Batman was excellent though...

I am pleased you enjoyed it, I wasn't entirely sure ... you kept shouting "This movie has no redeeming features! It makes no sense!" There were giggles too, but I wasn't sure what the final verdict was. Hooray!

The important thing to realise is that you're laughing with them. At the end of the day, it was basically a comedy...
