Typed out a big post yesterday, then Internet died. Broadly speaking: WENT HERE, DID STUFF. THEN WENT HERE, DID OTHER STUFF. MUCH FUN WAS HAD.
Then left all my booze at Nook's house OH NOES
Nook tried to convince me to buy a gamecube and failed. I do want one, I just don't have money to spare at the moment. It is on the list of things to buy, after "CD Stereo For Car" and "House". (Although, to be honest, the entry on the list does not say "Game Cube", it says "Console".) Today I allowed him a minor victory and let him think he'd talked me into buying another Superhero RPG. I had been thinking about it already, since the artwork is intensely pretty and the logos are all swish and shiny and Comicrafty.
Bought Black Books series 1 & 2. Took it back today as Series 2 disc was corrupted. Will have to go back again tomorrow as new disc suffers from same (in slightly different place). I would suspect it was a bad batch, except the first one came from Leeds and the second from Manchester...
Now I am all alone as
bacony has gone off to catch up on some
stsquad. May watch BATMAN the movie (starring ADAM WEST). KERSPLAT!

Date: 2004-03-26 04:22 am (UTC)PS 2 vs GmaeCube
Date: 2004-03-26 06:59 am (UTC)GameCube: Cheap. Most of the games are good quality and most quality games available on other systems are also available on the GC. Did i mention it's cheap.
It's also more colourful than the PS 2, with a slightly better graphics card (so i'm told). Doesn't play CDs or DVDs though. Selection of games isn't that large.
Nintendo are a nice, non-offensive corporation that havn't really done anything controversial.
PS 2: Most expensive of the consoles. Largest selection of games, including more adult titles. Plays CDs & DVDs. Good workhorse of a processor.
Sony are a huge multi-national conglomerate who would have shock troops shoot you against a wall for having MP3's on your computer and sharing them with others.

Mmm, well apart from violating anti-trust laws (thats price fixing to you and me). How much long term life do you think the GameCube has to offer from its relative low market penetration compared to the PS2.
The PS2 should be good format for many years to come. Yes its more expensive but in the great scheme of things the price of the console is small compared to the price of the games. The PS2 has by far the largest back catalog of games and budget ranges.
Of course I still hold no brief for their music division, but hey nobody in the console market is entirely clean...
