An adventure in unfulfilled promises

Judgement Day came and went.
The moon remains determinedly in orbit past 1999.
No Space Oddysey began in 2001.
It seems unlikely that there will be an Autobot city on Earth next year.

The future sucks.

Where the fuck is my flying car?

[identity profile] samharber.livejournal.com 2004-03-05 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
I think this answers that question.

Or you could start saving for this.

Eeek!

But... but...

That means the autobots are still of moonbase 1 and two... they'll all die when Orson Welles eats the moons!

Oh the humanity!

No Space Oddysey that they told us about began in 2001.

Cheer up Andy! There's a conspiracy theory for everything.

LARP doesn't exist; all the people who organise and run LARP games (who you never meet) are actually space lizards who refuse to go to bar-b-q events organised by Dayglow. It's all a mind-ciontrol exercise, and Ed Fortune is a sinister business-genius who plans to buy the Gathering and turn it into a drug-crazed tree-hugger paradise in competition with Glastonbury. NWO is actually a training camp for the Bavarian Illumianti, and the Rosicrucians are behind Maelstrom. You don't want to hear what the truth about Grand Design is - let's just say that all the "dreaming" metaphors are indicative of a hostile meme looking for a place to live. Basically.

You've seen it too!

The future sucks.

Well look on the bright side, we not all ruled by computers...

Actually wait a s... Bzzzzzt......

Future doesn't suck mate it's just been delayed a bit, check out this (http://www.diepunyhumans.com/archives/000029.html). Useful for people of limited mobility, hmmm giantarmouredbattlesuits-are-go more likely :).

And to be honest I don't want a flying car, can you imagine what would happen if most of the drivers in london go hold of one, mass carnage I'm telling you.

[identity profile] samharber.livejournal.com 2004-03-05 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Are you saying the mass carnage of most drivers in London would be a bad thing?

Chin up, we should all be in better shape by, uh, 2023.

Nobody seems to be upset that Buck Rogers wasn't on the last space shuttle launch in 1987.

Personally i'm quite grateful that we havn't been subjected to near total nuclear annihilation, that we don't live in mega-cities and that we don't have a fascist force of judges policing us....
