FAIL

Following today's Penny Arcade comic I had a quick look into Dante's Inferno. Skim-reading through the "plot" it seemed mostly daft; though I was a bit put off by the use of Cleopatra as the Demon Regent of Lust, it wasn't until Gluttony that I really lost interest.
"There he must face the 'great worm', Cerberus, a mass of worm-like stomach protruding from a open maw."

Cerberus is a worm now? Come on, that is not even something you have to research. Never mind the muddled confusion of Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christiam mythology; fair enough, abusing real-life personages or not knowing who Phlegyas is. But Cerberus? That's just lazy.

Everyone knows he's an Aardvark

It's not that I enjoy nit-picking, but the aardvark is called Cerebus. Different spelling.

I was tempted to write the above two sentences, one word at a time, over the course of fifteen seperate posts at roughly a year intervals as an homage to Dave Sim. But I didn't have the heart.

Isn't Cerebus a transformer?
