Twilight: Finally, a reason

I haven't had any reason to watch Twilight (or the sequel, Darkness Metaphor Something Something Later That Night) since the end of the trailer when I realised it was about vampires and not in fact superheroes.

However, having just stumbled upon The Catalog (from off of last year some time), I suddenly have the urge to download it and throw a Twilight Party. Purely because I'm pretty sure that list could be adapted to make a hella awesome drinking game.

Just don't be the guy who decides to drink any time Edward is incandescent, scintillating or sculpted.

Everytime someone other than Edward attempts to go out with the supposedly plain, unattractive clumsy girl. Can I just say that thinking about it the vampires are possibly the most realistic part of the books.

It is important, I am told, to remind oneself that the series is not and at no point pretends to be serious adult fiction (or even, say, Point Horror). It is thirteen-year-old-girl wish-fulfilment fic on a par with The Babysitters' Club.

Which makes me trust his opinion slightly more.

Because when Nev an I went to see it, we were the oldest people in there by 10 years, and it became an audience participation show, with the ooh, the ahhs, the sighs, the "I wish that was me"s and the girls who may well have been touching themselves.

There was certainly a lot of writhing.
