Heh. "Tavern Sauce." I'm going to have to start going into social situations with the assumption that everybody's heard that particular story.

In other news: ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

Oh, while I'm here. I've been trying to decide what character class to advance Woodrun in (currently Barbarian 1/Ranger 6) in [livejournal.com profile] ghostbritain's D&D game, and I think I've more or less decided on Barbarian. Because he's not been spending much time in the woodland, and he has been fighting things hand-to-hand a fair bit. So it makes a bit more sense for him to develop Uncanny Dodge (Brb2 feat) than Woodland Stride (Rng7 feat). It does put me a level further away from the third Combat Style (Rng11), but assuming I multiclass into the Order of the Bow (or whatever) prestige class I'm already in the position where I'll be able to take Improved Precise Shot as a feat before I get it from being a Ranger. Maybe I'll just stop all Ranger progression and concentrate on Barbarian and that prestige class ... well, we'll see where the road takes us, I may go back to Ranger if we start spending more time in the woodland.

This kind of thing always spreads; get two or more larpers in a pub and all the stories come out. I've seen people start telling a story and the person they are telling it to stop them half way through and point out the story is actually about themselves. You'd think that would be funny wouldn't you? Generally it's horrifying.

Much like the story of the LARPer walking home wearing chain-mail when he was mugged. If its any consolation most of these stories will mutate till the protaganist is just another LARPer who a friend of a friend who happened to know...

I know him. Well, one of them. He was wering his chain (cos it's heavy) and deliberatly took a short cut through a dodgy area.

The bloke only punched him tho' and it wasn't a mugging as such, just a driunken scally tosser.

"and it wasn't a mugging as such, just a driunken scally tosser."

And proof if ever any was needed as this is contrairy to the oft repeated tale...
