Ga-raj, you see

Took Raj to the garage, where several mechanics went "Ooh, exhaust?" on the basis of the noises he was making. Apparently they can't get a part until 3pm, and they want to allow a couple of hours to replace it, so I have to go back tomorrow (because they can't have Raj today, I need him for work).

Two mechanics drove him, one onto the ramp and one off. The first one said "Steering's a bit loose, isn't it?" And the second one said "Hey, nice light steering." Curiouser and curiouser. Maybe it's just a matter of taste.

In other news: [livejournal.com profile] ripley_the_cat is growing in popularity, and has potential to become a full-blown internet phenomenon. Comments on his posts have increased tenfold since being linked from SomethingAwful (though some of those people are just saying "U PPL R TRARDS THS SI NOTT A CAT IT SI A PERSNO").

Also: Film about Jesus not controversial enough. Mel Gibson has resorted to showing his movie to priests in private screenings in an effort to spark some hatred. Or something.

I like Jewish groups fear The Passion of the Christ will lead to anti-Semitism because of its suggestion that Jews were responsible for the crucifixion.

Weren't the jews responsible for the crucifixion? I'm going to have to apologise to Raffles the Gentleman Thug - I've been accusing him and his people of Messiacide since I've known him.

I'm wracking my brains; I think the Romans and the Jews did it, although of course God has to take at least part of the blame.

Y'know, this'd make an interesting Panorama piece. "Who killed Jesus - we bring you the Facts the Media doesn't want you to see.

Yup.. both the Jews and the Romans killed little baby Jesus. It must be true because an American Fundamentalist said it. And they KNOW that lying is a sin.

Well, going straight biblical, corrupt Jewish leaders decided they wanted Jesus dead, so they got him arrested and brought before the local Roman authority, Pontius Pilate. Pilate wasn't too sure what the hell was up, and even offered Jesus a chance to escape by asking the crowd if they'd rather free him or Barabus. The crowd, though, incited by the aforementioned corrupt leadership, said they wanted Barabus freed. Pilate, not wanting to get involved in what was obviously a religious concern, told the crowd that they could crucify Jesus if they wanted, but he was going to wash his hands of the whole matter.

So, it's not right to blame the Jews for Jesus' crucifiction any more than it's right to blame the Germans for the Holocaust. Yes, the individuals that had Jesus killed were motivated by religious power within the Jewish faith, but all things considered, if the entire faith were to be held responsible for the actions of some of its members, Christianity should probably be outlawed.

No matter how nice/friendly/cheap the exhaust/tyre place is, they will always ask/tell you that your tracking/wheel balance needs doing. Unless there's a noticable problem (steering wheel juddering, car pulling to one side) don't bother as they just use it as a way to get extra cash out of people.

You can check this by the spimple process of slamming your breaks on next time you have a clear bit of straight road and seeing if your car decides it doesn't want to keep going in a straight line.

Or simply take your hands of the wheel for a few secs while driving along a straight bit of the motorway.

Same as MOTs - there's always a bulb out.

1) Watch MOT being performed, if not possible:
2) Ask to be shown dead light, if not possible:
3) Ask to keep old bulb removed ['tis a legal right, it's still your property]. If refused:

DON'T PAY!
